Glick on tour!

April 16, 2010

An interesting development has occurred within the SEOtini clan. Glicky has decided to pursue her passion and become a stand-up comedienne (aside from her roll as an SEO analyst). Her decision, which was made during a drivethru lunch at Long John’s Silvers, has been raising some eyebrows at Search & Social, particularly with one of the bosses (name to be withheld).

The decision-making lunch & congratulatory flowers.

To say the least, Andrea’s decision has been receiving some pushback. Here is a snippet from a g-chat yesterday with the boss.

Andrea: I would like to offer my stand-up comedy services for the Summit.

Boss: No.

Andrea: I’ll let you think it through for a few days. Let me know by Monday.

Boss: I’ll let you know now…NO.

Andrea: You’re a cruel man.

At that, Glicky and I have decided to take matters into our own hands. I have offered my services as Andrea’s official manager and agent and we are pleased to announce the official Pantyhose Glick 2010 Tour. The opening act will roll out at Side Splitters in Tampa off of Dale Mabry, not too far from the office.

I hope you will all support Glicky’s side pursuit of happiness with me. Details on showtimes and tickets to come.

Just want to give a shout out to the whiz (aka Selly).

The Whiz

The Whiz at work.

Not only did the Whiz fix the sound on my computer this week (see photo above), but she also mended my broken heart this morning with a hand-delivered Vente Iced Green Tea with honey to make up for Tuesday’s conundrum…

My starbucks tea

My makeup or breakup Starbucks tea.

Selly gets the golden ribbon of honor this week for her charitable efforts. There is something to be said about a girl with an honest conscience (and fear of having her coffee spiked as a payback).

A special shout-out goes to the rest of the crew for dealing with a certain someone’s PMS this week.

Slightly heartbroken

April 13, 2010

Zee is heartbroken.

That's me with a broken heart.

I have a slight crack in my heart. It hurts. The office got Starbucks while I was out to lunch and didn’t text me for my order. So everyone is getting java’d up and I am in an afternoon slump, slightly heartbroken. I will survive, I promise. I just wanted to get it out there. I feel better already. Meanwhile, Glicky is making fun of me by making crying noises. I can’t wait to get the next Starbucks order. Glicky will be drinking carrot juice and Selly will be drinking decaf. Oh, and Dave will be drinking Moonshine.

Tacos anyone?

April 8, 2010

Andrea, Joanna, Me, & Kim at Taco Bus.

Our office is sort of situated in the hood. The building itself is lovely (two-story brick building reminiscent of the 1970’s), but if you drive 2 miles south, you’ll witness something like this: two very short men carrying a pig out of Winn-Dixie. It happened to me last week.

There is a plus side to working in the hood, however, and that is the close proximity to ethnic restaurants. Last week, Glicky was craving tacos, so four of us ventured over to Hillsborough Avenue (ethnic central) for a Taco Bus fix.

Taco Bus is kind of an institution in these parts and I highly recommend it to anyone in the mood for Mex-Mex, and not Tex-Mex. It resembles a shack, but inside you’ll find fresh, authentic Mexican fare that’s as close as you get to what you would find in a tiny, Mexican village.

We suggest the fish tacos or chicken quesadilla. Ariba, ariba!

We decided to put together a promo video showcasing what exactly is so great about this conference, and reasons why you should. Besides the fact that all the cool kids are coming 🙂 Enjoy!

I should have known something was up when three out of six SEOtini girls said they were “too busy” to accept the bosses invite to Mimi’s Cafe today. But I didn’t. I was too distracted with the idea of free lunch. Needless to say, we came back to this…

Happy April Fools Day to me!

Happy April Fools Day to me!

And this…

Happy April Fools Day Andrea!

And this…

Happy April Fools Day Joanna!

Luckily for us fools, Selly was still out to lunch with the boyfriend when we returned, so we managed to squeeze in a little payback.

Right back at you Selly!

I say little, because the payback has only begun. We (as in Team Mission Payback) still have to get TT Thao and Kim Kajones back. But you never know when we’ll strike back. That’s the beauty of it all: the surprise element. Stay tuned for more…

And here are the behind-the-scenes footage of the whole thing. ENJOY! Muahahaha >-)

Little Miss Glicky

March 29, 2010

This blog post is dedicated to Little Miss Glicky (Andrea), who is out of the office today for a wedding extravagenza in Pennsylvania. Oh, how I miss my Glicky! So as a tribute, I would like to write about her car “situation”. Most days, Glicky and I run errands together over lunch. Usually it includes a stop at Fresh Market for free pound cake samples and coffee (more on that later)…

Glicky in her car

Glicky in her car.

We take turns driving on these fun occasions and on the days that Glicky drives, I enter her car at my own risk. You see, stepping into Glicky’s car is like stepping into a war zone. Candy wrappers, coupons, pens and pencils, sticky notes, shoes, you name it…I have found it on Glicky’s car floor. Below is a photo of Glicky’s car on a good day.

Now I am somewhat of a neat freak, but for some reason, I miss Glicky’s car mess today. I really do. So this is today’s story in honor of Little Miss Glicky, or as Roger Hargreaves would call her, Little Miss Messy.

If you (Andrea) are reading this, come back to work soon and don’t you dare ever clean your car.
